The academic year begins on the first of September and lasts until the beginning of the new academic year in the following calendar year.

During the summer period, studies are generally not carried out, children spend a lot of time outdoors and consolidate what they have learned before. In summer, fewer children attend kindergartens and therefore different groups may be brought together for this period. In summer, kindergartens usually have an average of 1 month of summer vacation, when the kindergarten is closed. During this time, children in need will be provided with a temporary place in the other kindergarten.
